How to convert an image

Does Convertissima upload my images to a server?

No. Decoding and encoding run entirely in your browser. Files are read from your device (or fetched from a URL you provide) and converted locally; nothing is sent to Convertissima as an upload queue.

Which image formats can I convert?

Common raster formats including JPG (JPEG), PNG, WebP, GIF and AVIF when your browser supports encoding. ICO export bundles PNG tiles at standard sizes (16, 32, 48, 64, 128, 256). SVG export embeds a raster image inside an SVG wrapper—it does not trace vectors from photos.

Can I convert JPG to PNG, PNG to WebP, or PNG to ICO?

Why does loading an image from a URL sometimes fail?

Browsers enforce cross-origin (CORS) rules. If the image host does not allow Convertissima to read the file, the fetch will fail. Download the image and add it from your device instead.

Is there a file size or dimension limit?

Limits are set by your device's memory and the browser's canvas. Convertissima caps very large images automatically (8192 px per side, ~32 megapixels) and downscales GIFs to keep the tab responsive.

Do I need an account?

No account is required and the service is free to use. Open the page, add files, choose an output format and download the results.
